Capacity Building Associate at Calgary Foundation

Alyssa Lindsay is a dedicated and innovative non-profit leader with over 15 years of experience in social innovation, design thinking, and systems change. In her current role as a Capacity Building Associate at Calgary Foundation, Alyssa contributes to community building and engagement through research, co-design, and facilitation of shared learning and collaborative spaces. Alyssa actively participates in or leads numerous cross-sector network and collective impact initiatives and provides guidance to charities and nonprofit groups seeking capacity building support. She is also currently pursuing a Master of Education at the University of Calgary, focusing on community engaged learning through collaborative creativity and dynamic design.

Alyssa's career is marked by her strategic leadership and ability to design and facilitate impactful learning initiatives with diverse stakeholders. As the Executive Director of Bridges Social Development, she led a remote team and a broad network of community partners, focusing on enabling BIPOC youth-led social change across Treaty 7. Internationally, she has worked with Engineers Without Borders in Malawi, supporting a systems change approach and local government leadership within the Water and Sanitation sector. Her efforts in capacity development, innovative evaluation processes, and strategic partnerships have consistently resulted in strengthened program outcomes and increased engagement of equity-seeking communities.

Outside of work and school, Alyssa is deeply involved in several community led initiatives and enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog on outdoor adventures.
